Configuring Outlook Express 5 for Windows

The following instructions assume that you have a proper installation of Outlook Express 5 and a Solvnet Internet account.

  • From the Tools menu, choose Account.
     
  • Select the Mail tab.
     
  • Select an old mail account (or choose add/mail , follow the wizard using the info in #3) then
     
  • Click the Properties button.

  • In the Mail account text box, type solvnetmail.net
     
  • In the Name text box, type your name.
     
  • In the Email Address text box, type your e-mail address. For example, username@solvnetmail.net
     
  • Check Include this account when doing a full send and receive.

  • Select the Servers tab.
     
  • In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) text box, type solvnetmail.net
     
  • In the Incoming Mail (POP3) text box, type solvnetmail.net
     
  • Select Log on using.
     
  • In the Account name text box, type your username.
     
  • In the Password text box, type your password.
     
  • check My server requires authentication.

  • Select the Connection tab.
     
  • Select Connect using my phone line.
     
  • Under Use the following dial-up networking connection, select your Solvnet dial-up connection.
     

  • Click the Close button.
